How I make this
I write these letters with AI tools, inside a process I direct. The tools draft, and then they argue with the draft: one pass for whether the reasoning holds, one that checks every source and quotation against the original, one for the sentences, one for whether it still sounds like the rest of the letters. I read every line that comes out of it and decide: keep it, cut it, do it again. A good deal doesn’t survive.
If you scan one of these, it will come back at the far end of the scale, and that’s accurate. The prose was made with these tools, and the scan is measuring the thing it can measure.
The thinking is mine, and so are the decisions and the corrections. What a scan sees is how the words were made, not who did the thinking.
I’m not going to argue that this is the right way to make things. It’s how I make this, and you can weigh it as you like.
How the site is built
WordPress, with a block theme written for this site, running in a container on a server in my house and reached through a Cloudflare tunnel. Type is Fraunces, Literata, and Public Sans, served from here rather than from a font network. The palette is undyed wool and indigo. The letters are composed in Markdown and pushed here by a small script.
Traffic is counted with Cloudflare’s cookieless analytics and nothing else. There are no comments and no trackers.
